Brisbane Airport

The Brisbane Airports (International and Domestic) are located next to each other, 13 kilometres (8 miles) northeast of Brisbane’s central business district (CBD) and QUT’s Gardens Point Campus.

Traveling between the airport and the conference

Train

The Airtrain rail service links Brisbane domestic and international airport terminals to the Brisbane CBD. The service operates every day between 5:45am and 10pm, departing every 15 minutes, and takes approximately 22 minutes.The cost of a one-way adult ticket is AUD $16.50. The Airtrain app is available for your iphone.

Bus

Con-X-ion Airport Transfers provides transport services to all major accommodation houses, door-to-door in the Brisbane CBD. Transfers with Con-X-ion are available from both the iternational and domestic airport terminals. At the International Terminal transfers can be booked at the Visitors Information Counter in the Arrivals Lounge on Level 2. Bookings can also be made by calling 1300 266 946 or through the website. The cost of a one-way adult fare is AUD $16.00.

Taxi

A taxi rank is located a the northern end of the Arrivals area on Level 2 at Brisbane International Terminal. At the Brisbane Domestic Terminal the taxi rank is located centrally in front of the terminal. Fares from the airport to Brisbane CBD range from AUD $45.00 – $53.00.

Traveling around Brisbane

Public transport options in Brisbane include trains, buses and ferries. Use the Translink website to find timetables, maps and destinations, as well as information on late night services and safety and security. GoCards are pre-paid electronic tickets that can be purchased and topped-up at selected service counters or online. Download the Go Brisbane app for iPhones for timetable information for AUD $3.79.

Transport via Taxi is also available through Black and White Cabs or Yellow Cabs. Contact Black and White Cabs via phone 133 222, online or by iPhone or Anroid app. Yellow Cabs can be contacted by phone 131 924, online, SMS, or by iPhone or Android app.

Conference Parking

Short-term parking for up to 4 hours is available at Gardens Point Campus in the Under Freeway Car Park that is located under the South East Freeway. The fee for a four hour stay is AUD $10.

Short and longer term parking is also available at the Science and Engineering Centre (SEC) carpark at Gardens Point Campus that is located in P Block. Fees vary between AUD $4 – $40 based on duration of stay.

Parking in Brisbane City

Car parking is also available at various car parks through the Brisbane CBD including the Brisbane Myer Centre in Queen Street, Wilson Parking in Margaret Charlotte and Eagle Streets, and Secure Parking in Charlotte Street. Various charges apply. Walking distance from these car parks to QUT Gardens Point Campus is approximately 10-15 minutes.

Parking is also available at South Bank from which it is approximately 10 – 15 minutes walk across the Goodwill Bridge to the southern-point of the Gardens Point Campus.
